James K. Murphy is of counsel with Lynch, Cox, Gilman & Goodman, P.S.C. His practice concentrates in the areas of transactional matters, coporate, real estate & commercial lending, business planning and some litigation. Prior to the practice of law, Mr. Murphy was a Vice President in Commercial Lending and Special Assets with the former Bank of New England, NA in Boston, Massachusetts where his portfolio consisted of real estate as well as commercial and industrial type credits.
A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, Mr. Murphy holds a 1985 undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University, a 1993 Law Degree from Washington and Lee University; the Lewis School of Law and has significant business and finance post graduate courses in pursuit of his Masters in Business Administration.
Drawing upon his banking and corporate background, Mr. Murphy has gained extensive experience in transactional matters, including industrial revenue bonds, commercial lending, merger and acquisitions, reorganizations, dispositions, choice of entity, liquidations and dissolutions. A major focus of Mr. Murphy's practice involves real estate acquisition and lending transactions and commercial transactions and securities.
Mr. Murphy represents a number of banks, lending companies and other financial institutions. He assists his clients in obtaining financing for acquisitions, restructuring and real estate projects.
